Everything you need to know and forgot to ask in preparation for day care.

This is a fun day for your dog while providing peace of mind for you.

Q. What is the difference between day care and boarding?

 A.  Day Care is spending the day with us, between 8am and 6pm. If your pet is boarding he/she will spend the night and either half or the whole of the next day with us.

Q. Are there any special requirements?

A. Your pet must be currently vaccinated, with an annual booster and separate vaccination against canine cough. Consult your veterinarian for confirmation.

Q. Can you pick up and deliver my pet to day care?

A. At this time, we are unable to offer a collection/delivery service.

Q. If I cannot collect my pet, is he/she able to stay overnight?

A. Yes, this won’t be a problem, provided you advise us at least four hours before he/she is due to go home.

Q. Are there any extra fees for an overnight stay, if I cannot collect my pet?

A. Yes. (see tariff page.)

Q. Will my pet be fed during day care?

A. No, not unless you request a meal or treats. Please visit the tariff page for prices. These will be added to your daily account.

Q. What type of food do you provide if required?

A. We provide  Nutrience super premium dry dog food original, and treats are also available for purchase, if required.

Q. Can I bring my dog’s bed and toys?

A. Yes, you can bring a blanket, but no bean bags or duvet inners, or any beds containing foam slabs/foam chips. An interactive toy such as a kong, can provide mental stimulation and reduce boredom. Only one toy please.

Q. Does my dog require any special vaccinations?

A. Yes, your dog must be up to date with its annual booster and also a separate vaccination against canine cough. The vaccination book must be presented at check in. Contact your veterinarian for confirmation.

Q. Do I have to flea and worm my dog for day care?

A. Yes, both of these are mandatory and we will require proof of these. These requirements are for the health and safety of yours and other dogs.

Q. How do I know my dog is safe?

A. If you are already a customer then we will “know” your dog and how it behaves and interacts with others. If you are a new customer, then we will enusre that your dog is not placed in a situation where it can be harmed by others. The safety of all of our guests is of paramount importance.

Q. Does my dog have the opportunity to interact with others?

A. If your dog is social and has no behavioural issues, then they will be able to have play time with others at Alrona Pet Motel.

Q. How much does dog  day care cost?

A. Please see our tariff page for prices.

Q. When do I have to pay for casual day care?

A. Payment is required at drop off.

Q. If I purchase a 10 or 20 day package, when is this payable?

A. To secure a space, payment is required at time of booking.

Q. What if I do not use all of the package days?

A. We hope this will not happen, but they are non refundable or transferable.

Q. Can my dog have a hydrobath?

A. Yes, charges as per the tariff page.
